Ian Compares the CMT Step-Smart Brace to Traditional AFOs

Hi, it’s Ian from Insightful. We had a customer who came into us, she’s local, and she had been prescribed these articulated ankle AFO’s with plantar flexion stop and struggled. She was in a lot of pain and every time she tried to go down a ramp, her knee would kick forward and she felt unstable. 

So, with the Step-Smart Brace which has the full range of motion, not only is she more stable, but she’s not in pain. 

Interestingly, after she tried these custom molded AFO’s, she also went to the TurboMed and she also wasn’t that comfortable with the TurboMed. I guess the two uprights tended to knock into each other.

She’s very happy, she’s leaving today with the bilateral CMT Step-Smart Braces.
