Bilateral Drop Foot solved with the Step-Smart Brace

Video Transcript:

I am a bit of a rare duck, as they say. I have a tumor in my spinal cord which is choking off the nerves to my legs. It is something that is inoperable at this time. It did not go well the three times I had surgery so there are other ways around it. So, my feet drop. This one has been dropping since 1988. I got the brace in 1992 and I’ve been looking for something similar to this since that time. The ones that I wear now are they go all the way up to here, they’re very heavy, they’re very bulky they’re obvious which in my younger days I was quite vain about and I didn’t like to wear them because of that. Now that I’m older and a little wiser I realized that it’s not as big a deal. So, these are much more comfortable, they’re easier to put on than my other ones. So, the insides and the outsides as you can see them from here…plenty of plenty of room for more than 90-degree angle and that was huge. The other ones that I’ve had and I’ve had to doctor them myself, bring them in my basement and I would trim them and cut them to make sure that I still had enough mobility and these ones already came that way, no alterations needed which is which is fantastic. They are a fraction of the weight of the other ones of my old ones. I mean a fraction, to the point where when I put them on at first, I felt a little weird because I’m used to having heavy braces keep my feet down and these ones didn’t. Yeah, they lift my feet up and they still give me enough back and forth, flexion and plantar flexion. So far so good, I like them.
